About me:
Last night, my 5-year-old angel (Morgan) said- "Mom, I want to do what you do when I grow up!". Chuckling to myself, I wondered- what exactly IS it that I DO? Most of the time, I feel like I'm scrambling through life, just trying my best to stay afloat. The more I thought about it, I realized that first and foremost I am a child of God. I am also a mother of two, a wife, a businesswoman, a baker, a painter, and a lover of all activities outdoors!
I started baking when I was around 5-years old with an Easy Bake Oven. I was old enough to know that gourmet desserts don't come from powder packets, but I was too young to use a real oven on my own! I've always loved cooking and baking, which is probably why I spend most of my time in the kitchen. I love the smell of homemade rolls baking in the oven, I love to see dough rising (fingers crossed) on top of the stove, but most of all I love to see people's faces when they try a petite four/kingcake/cinnamon roll for the first time!.
During this class, we will learn how to use yeast to make dough, how to knead the dough to the perfect consistency, make and fill strips to braid, and of course learn about the history and traditions associated with Mardi Gras! Laissez les bons temps rouler! Allison Young
