Before each Gatherings, I have been hanging a different
painting to see what looks best in my den - then posting pics for all my Gatherings Girls and Social Family to comment on - so please take the time to vote. I am having a blast just trying out all the different pieces and learning about all these exceptionally gifted artists. Let me introduce you to the next artist in this little experiment of mine.
SIXTH PIECE | "Glory" by ANN SEALE
Ann Seale is a seasoned painter from Jackson, Mississippi. She has been exhibiting her work professionally in galleries since 2007. Ann exhibited her work, a portrait of an artist colleague and friend, Rosalind (Roz) Roy, in the “Artists by Artists” exhibition at the Mississippi Museum of Art in 2012.
Ann earned both undergraduate and graduate degrees in art from the University of Mississippi. She also studied independently with artist David A. Leffel, the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League of New York.
Donating work to various charities has long been a passion and high priority for Ann. She has been contributing work to fundraising efforts since 2007. She has donated pieces to the following organizations: The Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, The Blair E Batson Children’s Hospital, The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The Hard Places Community, The American Heart Association, Go Red for Women, The Mississippi Kidney Foundation, Junior League of Jackson, The McClean Fletcher Center, Hearts Against AIDS, The Thisbe and Noah Scott Foundation, The University of Mississippi Medical Center, The Mississippi School for the Deaf and Blind, Stewpot Community Services, Southern Christian Services, United States Tennis Association, Saint Andrews Episcopal School, First Presbyterian Day School, Jackson Academy, Jackson Preparatory School, Covenant Presbyterian Preschool, Meadowbrook Preschool, and New Summit School.
"I give all credit to God for blessing me with artistic ability. It is my desire to give back and help within my community as well as where I am asked and able to participate. I have loved to paint, draw and create from an early age, and I am so thankful for the opportunity to do this for a living.
My latest body of work represents a new shift in my perspective and subject matter. The pieces function independently and as a whole to represent mood and movement. They can be purchased through View Gallery in Jackson, Mississippi."
Gatherings is super-excited to announce that Ann will be teaching a class for us on January 31st at VIEW GALLERY in Jackson.
